What it does

  • Photos, videos and Live Photos

    Plays everything in your library. Live Photos animate automatically. Videos play with sound or silently.

  • Transition styles

    Crossfade, slide, zoom, blur dissolve, Ken Burns or none. Each one smooth and unhurried.

  • Ken Burns effect

    Slow, randomised pan and zoom across each photo. Gives still images a sense of movement.

  • Clock overlay

    An optional translucent clock in any corner. Liquid Glass styling, SF Mono typeface. Turns your screen into a smart display.

  • Auto-dim

    Gradually dims the screen after a period of inactivity. Configurable brightness and timing. Tap to wake.

  • Background music

    Let Spotify or Apple Music keep playing during photo slideshows. Videos with sound duck the music automatically.

  • Favourite photos

    Add or remove any photo from your Apple Photos Favourites directly from the slideshow. No need to leave the app.

  • iCloud support

    Downloads iCloud photos on demand. Shows a low-res preview first, then replaces it with the full image.

  • Apple TV

    The same slideshow on your television. Browse albums, play, and favourite photos with the Siri Remote.

Privacy

Your photos stay on your device. No accounts, no cloud, no tracking.

Gallerique accesses your photo library to display slideshows and toggle Favourites. It never deletes or uploads your photos. There is no networking beyond iCloud photo downloads handled by Apple's PhotoKit. No analytics, no telemetry, no servers. All preferences are stored on-device via UserDefaults. Delete the app and everything is gone.

How it works

  1. Browse albums

    Browse your photo library in a gallery-style grid. Smart albums, user albums, or all photos at once.

  2. Configure

    Set photo duration, pick a transition style, enable the clock overlay and choose whether to play background music.

  3. Play

    Fullscreen slideshow with smooth transitions. Tap to pause on iPad, swipe with the Siri Remote on Apple TV.
