Aetheria

A floating, always-on-top window for the links, files and shortcuts you keep reaching for.

macOS Released

Version 1.0.1 Beta.

Beta software. Use at your own risk. Aetheria has been tested on a limited number of systems and may contain bugs or behave unexpectedly. Before using it: back up any important files before dragging them into collections, remember that data is stored locally with no cloud sync yet, and test with non-critical items first.

What it does

  • Keyboard shortcut activation

Press Cmd+Shift+A to show or hide your collection window from any application.

  • Drag and drop

Drop files, URLs and links onto the window. Aetheria extracts titles and creates clickable items.

  • Free-form positioning

Arrange items anywhere in the window by dragging them. No rigid grids or lists.

  • Click to open

Single click any item to open it in its default application. Files, web links or custom URL schemes.

  • Customisable appearance

Adjust window transparency, tint colour and shape (square or rounded) to suit how you work.

  • Launch at login

Start Aetheria automatically when your Mac boots, so your collection is always ready.

Requirements

  • macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later
  • 50MB free disk space
  • Accessibility permissions for the global keyboard shortcut

How it works

  1. Install the app

Download and install Aetheria to your Applications folder. Double-click to run it. It only appears in your menu bar.

  2. Access anywhere

Press Cmd+Shift+A from any app to show your collection.

  3. Add your items

Drag files and links onto the window, or click + to add them manually.
